do not be any alternative to free. be free. -nayyirah waheed.
Documenting my awe. Narrating my liberation.
Why I'm here / a dedication
"You will come away bruised.
You will come away bruised
But this will give you poetry."
-from 'bone' by Yrsa Daley-Ward

To fully expand into my body, dignity, belonging, and worth through story-telling, art, and holy expression.
To allow my joy and pleasure to take up space.
To witness, transmute, and make meaning out of the hard things.
To have you bear witness.

This space is dedicated to continuing the legacy of alchemy of Black folk (conjure), queer folk, women, femmes, broke bitches, survivors, and those in my line relegated to the margins of society.
About Rachel
I am a Libra sun, Sagittarius moon & rising, community organizer, yoga teacher, and poet. When I am most free, I can be found laughing loudly in the street, dancing at a club or park, and eating while making continuous commentary about how amazing the food is through various sighs, moans and expletives.
I care deeply about creating worlds where everyone experiences safety and has the room and support to be their fullest, most authentic self.
I am currently based in Los Angeles.
